François d’Adesky

François d’Adesky is a former head of diplomatic mission and an activist committed to the defence of human rights and the protection of the environment. He is Vice-President of the Association Résolution Métis – Associatie Resolutie Metis (ARM) and is co-founder of the Association Métis de Belgique – Metissen van België (AMB/MVB).

Jacques d’Adesky

Jacques d’Adesky is an economist, anthropologist, and member of CIJKAD. An expert on contemporary Brazil-Africa relations and human rights, he has taught at several universities and is the author of key works on racism.

Jonas d’Adesky

Ella Elesse

Ella Elesse is a researcher and filmmaker whose work examines colonial filiation regimes, colonial governance of mixed-race childhood in the Belgian Congo, racial classification of mixed-race populations under National Socialism, and visual afterlives of racial modernity. Writer-director of the documentary Sang-Mêlé (2014), she is currently developing the fiction film Georges.

Marcel Florkin

Marcel Florkin is Professor of Economics and Statistics at the Haute École Francisco Ferrer in Brussels and a member of the Board of Directors of Afropean Project. He contributes to the European research programme CONCILIARE, which explores colonial legacies and their contemporary impacts.

Georges Kamanayo Gengoux

Georges Kamanayo Gengoux is a filmmaker who directed the first films and documentaries in Belgium dedicated to colonial Métis children and their mothers. He is currently based in Rwanda, where he trains and mentors young filmmakers.

François Milliex

François Milliex enjoyed a long career as an Art Director at advertising agencies in Belgium and France, receiving numerous awards for his creativity. Now based in Brussels, he is an artist and also serves as President of the association Métis de Belgique-Métis van België (AMB/MVB).

Antoinette Uwonkunda Kondylis

Antoinette Uwonkunda Kondylis is President of the non-profit organisation Métis du Monde that was established in 2020.

Noémie Van Lierde

Noémie is a Belgian-Congolese artist and photographer who explores questions of mixed-race identity, memory, and colonial heritage through photography, collage, and archival materials. Her work gives voice to women whose stories have long been silenced.
